Big Bee

This piece is very well crafted. The interplay of light and shadow really works, because it isn't imposing like it tends to be when an artist isn't well-versed in doing it. What struck me as most impressive is the girl herself. The expression, the hair, the pose, even the unnatural slimness - it's all there and it looks so breathtakingly good. While I do find the honey to be a bit unrealistic-looking, the bee just blends in the composition perfectly, like a glove, if you'll pardon the word play.

If I had to nitpick and choose something I found genuinely unlikable, it would probably be the fact that the image itself may be just a bit too gritty for me. It's not in itself a flaw, as far as this piece is concerned anyway, but to me a more innocent tone would fit better.

Overall, an amazing piece. Hopefully more akin to it will come.
