The suggester says, "This is an amazing self-portrait! It is so crisp and clear", and it certainly is! The contrast in colours really brings out the individual features in this piece, while the application of materials conveys a sense of the ethereal.

Color Dust II by artviveslidia ( Suggested by TriZiana and Featured by 3wyl )
Inevitably, with such a prolific and fertile image-maker, some works may transcend even her own ambitious goals. As commentators here have noted, this image is simply and stupefyingly beautiful to the eye, with its luscious range of blues, sonorous accents of deep amber, the pale flesh beauty of the model's face, and the simple naked gesture of the body. This artist likes to work with themes in series and themes within themes. This, the second piece in her 'Color Dust' sequence continues her broader strategy of using self-portrait to appropriate references from the inherited culture of art making to define her own involvement with it. We know that this trail has been blazed by others and I will not explore those comparisons. Instead we can enjoy the particular inventiveness of this woman, and the ways in which she includes us, in her own particular quest to define the role of the individual in a vast, unfolding cultural history.
Color Dust, which seems to be about paint dust or paint pigment, obviously puns with the Star Dust of Tinker Bell and Peter Pan fame, (leading even to faint echoes of Joni Mitchell.) One can immerse them self in the magic of art materials and the magic of art fantasy. Cave painters blew raw pigment onto walls of stone, and "Color Dust I" suggests this primitive reference with a body- and face-painted warrior exploding into our time. In "Color Dust II" those savage finger daubs of "dust" have coagulated and trickled away from the face to form a body coating suggestive of the mysterious 'ritual materials' dried on the African fetishes of museum-case fame. And this explicit duality between face and body is what gives this picture its unique power. The blue patina of color dust, which coats the skin directly, only serves to emphasize its nakedness, while the flesh tones of the face, skillfully accented with conventional makeup, emerge from the encasing blue as a mask.
The artist seems to confirm this awareness in the equally stunning "Color Dust III" when she appropriates more modern ornamentation for a bizarre and masking eye patch. And where her ritualized body has become fetishized in lingerie.
The 'troughs' in this artist's oeuvre already reach a high bar, the 'peaks' are engaging in the extreme.

First off let me just have a mini freak out!
This model is so beautiful and the colors give a dark dreamy look which I just FLAT OUT ADORE!

Your a genius! Blending an Polar frozen color and a Summer Bronzie color combination is just stunning. Normally the assumption is if the photo is cold it means a more depressing meaning and if it has warmth it means that its happier.. you took those meanings and broke them in half and said "Why not both?" The meaning is so much deeper just because of that.

It's wonderful yet closed off. Her lips being open normally means she wants to speak that you have something to say but her arms being folded around her assumes that she's hiding her feelings. Perhaps she desperately wants to say what she has to say but can't bring herself to say it. Fear maybe? Fear of rejection?

What I believe:
From the cool colors gradient spanning from nearing Black to jewel tone blue to the fair complexion of this beauty it seems shes being consumed by whatever she needs to say. The butterfly is symbolic for how close she could be from freeing herself from this pain. Her eye color is very interesting and now that I have stared at it for a bit it makes me feel like she is either slowly accepting her fate or its eating at her so much that shes about to explode. The paint being on her face leads me to think that shes running out of time until its too late. Maybe the slight color around her ear is similar to the paint on her face but maybe she knows that this moment is coming to the climax. Even the gradient in the background looks like people in the distance but she is so fixated on this problem that they have fizzled out to blurs blending with everything else.

Or (A more romantic spin on it)

Maybe this isn't about her at all and she has a love that she's watching and he's falling for someone else and she is fading to the background... to nearly nothing. And maybe she's seeing what she lost and realizes what's happening with this guy...

(I'm banking more on the first one but still..)
This is a gorgeous piece no matter what the meaning is. Thanks for sharing!
And don't ever stop making beauty such as this!
